World Evidence-based Healthcare Day is a global initiative that raises awareness of the need for better evidence to inform healthcare policy, practice and decision making in order to improve health outcomes globally.
Held on 20 October each year, the 2025 theme is “Collaborative Knowledge Communication”, focusing on how information and ideas can be shared in creative and collaborative ways.
The 2025 campaign, “Collaborative Knowledge Communication,” calls for a reimagining of how health knowledge is shared and understood. The campaign is championing clear, inclusive, and participatory communication as essential to ensure that knowledge is trusted, accessible, and meaningful.
Nicky Benn, Director of Development & External Relations, said: “Cochrane is proud to be part of World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day 2025. At a time when trust in science is under pressure, and misinformation and disinformation are increasingly shaping public discourse, the need for reliable, evidence-based solutions has never been greater.
From the impacts of climate change to shifts in geopolitics and technology, we face complex challenges that demand collaboration. This day is an opportunity to champion evidence-based healthcare and reflect on how we can work together to communicate knowledge effectively.”
The day is an opportunity to participate in a conversation about global trends and challenges. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the impact of individuals and organizations worldwide, recognizing the work of dedicated researchers, policymakers and health professionals in improving health outcomes.
